>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Each day after shopping and chores are accomplished,
I settle to relax infront of the TV.
The programmes are excellent,
But in the commercial breaks this is what I see.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
The symptoms as actors act out having a stroke,
Someone being resusitated as the Bee Gees sings"Stayin Alive."
Then a commercial about Bowel Cancer,
How I want to hide.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Later comes the lowering of cholesterol.
Likewise one's blood pressure.
I sit and think what are they doing to me?
All I want is to sit at my leisure.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>..
A while later the insurrance companies
Have their say.
How one can be insured,
To leave to their families one day.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Last but not least the funeral parlour
Come on the scene.
This is not the sort of viewing
I need to see.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I appreciate all about health awareness,
That it is for the good of us all.
But we're being brainwashed.
Which I don't relish at all.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.
If you're not a hypochondriac at the onset of day.
After all is done and said.
If one sits too long infront of the TV set.
You will be one before you retire to bed.

That's why I always mute the commercials!
This is such a timely post, as advertisers often prey on our sensibilities. That's why I try to fast forward through commercials. Julie
Hello, Thanks for stopping by my blog. I now live along the South West coast, but Surrey will always be home! Good luck with A-Z!
LOL! I'm sorry Yvonne, but this poem was SO true that I couldn't help but laugh. Your descriptions of the commercials were also entertaining. :)
We haven't had cable for a year now. My husband decided to end our contract because of the high prices. There is alot of junk on TV, and those commercials, for the most part, can be over-the-top.
You're so right Yvonne!
